Halloween

Yip, exam over. Yay.

Whilst studying for exam, I missed joining all the Halloween festivities. Seriously it is huge over here - much to the candy industries' delight. I was reading in a book today that candy makers pushed (and succeeded) for a change in the original day light savings time because when it was BEFORE Halloween, there would be one hour less of day light to go trick or treating...a lot less candy corn don't you think? Hmm...interesting.

And adults take great amusement in scaring the day light out of little children - be it dressing in zombie outfits, creating haunted houses, putting coffins in their front yard, hanging ghosts from trees and so on. I don't get it.

The cute thing I did see was a preschooler dressed as Tigger on his way to preschool. So cute.

And there are heaps of parties - apparently it's the biggest Law School party of the year. Everyone goes hard out on their costumes - which is a pretty cool aspect. But yeah, missed most of that because I was studying. Leah and Sarah, however, went to the church (that's right) halloween party and dressed as grapes (that's right). Random but original. So here's a pic. And here's a pic of a teenage mutant ninja turtle hitting Sarah with a tennis racket. Fascinating...especially since I wasn't even there. But I did need some pics for this blog! Haha.

Hi Tondeurs!
I cannot believe Adrian is 7 months old already! He will be crawling/walking soon! As much as I'm looking forward to getting home to everyone (including my new niece/nephew) am definitely regretting not having more time in LA to see you guys again!!! What was I thinking!? Have cravings for Taco Bell often too - will have to work out where one is in Vancouver! Son

Sonya, I know that I have already apologised to you for sounding like a raving mad woman in your last entry... but I feel that owe an explanation to your many fans! I blame my late nights drafting documents for trying to find double meanings that weren't there!

Oh, and for those that are wondering, my friend is no longer so angry woman... She told me that she saw some potential talent in this fair trade coffee shop. Hopelessly hippy I know. However, considering that the conversation lasted all of 5 words, I'll bet she'll be looking round those corners soon enough.

Tim, I'll be there with Bells On!

Bells Jane? I don't think it's a belly dancing pary.

Hello Sonya!

I thought that rather than writing on Tim's (not yours) blog I would visit yours instead. Tim (yours)never told you he had sent you roses - what an awesome guy.

Must be so good to know that the degree is almost over! In answer to your question, I have another year to go and at the moment either international labour law or refugee law tickles my fancy.

I also have favours to ask of you regarding Asian Law notes/resources, so I will get your e-mail off Tim and mail you.

Bye!

Correction: Tim never told ME he had sent you roses :-)

Hey Sonya,

I saw that Dove ad that you posted a link to the other day, and was just wondering what you thought about it. Now that they've exposed the myth and used that exposition as a method to sell products - Where can they go from there? Its quite funny how they had to rip their own advertising of like 2 years back in order to get a fresh angle on the market....I don't envy their marketing team's job at all!

Hey Ana,

Thanks for your 'comment'! Good idea posting here instead...definitely makes more sense. For sure, get my e-mail off Tim...:) And yes, he is a pretty awesome guy. Any idea how you're going to get into those areas of practice?...Actually, let's just save it all for e-mail!

Heya Tim,

Trying to expand controversial debate beyond your blog, eh?

You would have noticed the intro attached to the link 'I know it's only an ad...but it's still pretty cool'. Yes, it's marketing at its finest...but hey, it makes girls feel good! So it's effective marketing at that. At least if you were in their marketing team, you'd be getting a bonus about now.

I heard they're looking for some men with hairless legs or missing toenails for their next campaign...
